May Home Sales Velocity Up from April

Even though median sales prices of condos and houses have dropped overall between May 2007 and May 2008, sales are actually up from April's pace 3.84% and 10.86% respectively.  According to this article, as we move into the hot summer selling season, home sales are increasing and prices are rising!

Denver - Returning to a "Normal" Market

The continued drop in available home inventory is helping the Denver market return to “normal.”  A recent report indicated that there is just over seven months of supply available in the seven county Denver-Boulder area.  A buyer’s market appears if supply is an excess of 8 months, and a seller’s market is when supply is less than 6 months. 

OFHEO: Colorado Home Prices Up 2.29% in Last Year

The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) reported today that Colorado Home Prices have increased 2.29% for 1st quarter 2008, with Grand Junction ranking as #2 Metropolitan Statistical Area and Divisions with Highest Rates of House Price Appreciation (9.08%).  Thank you to the Denver Business Journal - for chosing to share the positive content of the report for Colorado home owners in an article today - detailing Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Greeley home price increases as well! 

Fort Collins a Bright Spot

Fort Collins is bucking the real estate trend with higher home prices.  Home prices are up, business is good, and according this Denver Post article, no wonder Fort Collins shows up on lists of best places to live.

Home Sales Inch Up

A monthly economic review produced by the Denver Newspaper Agency reported that Metro Denver home sales inched up 0.5% from January to February.  The increased number of homes under contract might also suggest the Denver market could be re-gaining momentum.
